Course Description

It is possible to register all laser scans in a survey in one hit using Trimble RealWorks. However in some circumstances it may be desired to register the scans by area, in RealWorks this is known as a Group. For example registering all the scans by floor in a multi floor building. Once all scans are registered within a Group, then the Groups of scans are registered together. Using video tutorials this course demonstrates how to register a laser scan survey using a Group based approach.

On this course Trimble RealWorks is the point cloud processing software used.  A temporary copy of Trimble RealWorks is supplied to those taking the course.

Processing point clouds can be hardware demanding, so consider whether your Windows 10 PC is likely to be capable of handling point clouds if you wish to follow the practical assignments.

Essentially a Windows 10 PC, with 16GB RAM and a graphics card with at least 1GB RAM will be sufficient.  Check with us on [email protected] if you wish to check your PC hardware will be suitable for this course.
